At West Elementary, there's an exceptional team dedicated to Physical Education (PE). Students will engage in daily PE sessions during their scheduled periods, thanks to our dedicated staff.

My name is Katie Knop and this is my 13th year teaching Physical Education at West Elementary. I received my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Kinesiology from The University of Alabama. I taught PE for 2 years in Tuscaloosa before returning home to Cullman in 2014. I am blessed to be able to do what I love in my hometown!
I am married to Chad Knop and we have two children, Hughes (9 years old) and Mary Ellis (4 years old). When I am not teaching, I love spending time with family, friends, traveling, and attending Alabama football games.

I have 29 years of experience in education and degrees from Cullman High School and Auburn University, I am dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and active lifestyles among our students, creating a positive and supportive learning environment every step of the way. I have 2 children. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
