Meet Mrs. Kallhoff...

My name is Kristina Kallhoff and I am a 3rd grade teacher at West Elementary! Over the past 25 years, I have taught preschool, first grade, second grade, third grade, and fourth grade. I have served as an ARI reading coach and reading and math interventionist for grades 2nd-6th. I also served as an instructor for three colleges teaching corrective reading, supervising student internships, and coordinating the University of West Alabama’s Black Belt Teacher Corps program. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a Reading Specialist Master’s degree. I have been trained in Dyslexia and other reading difficulty interventions. I enjoy teaching math investigations and building critical thinking science skills through STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) activities and lessons. Tell me and I forget; Teach me and I may remember; Involve me and I learn! I have been married to Mr. Kallhoff for 25 years and we have 4 beautiful children: Carson, Karalynn, John Curtis, and Anna Claire. I love going to the beach and spending time with my family in my spare time. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with my new students and West family!
