Dr. Jay Page, Principal
Dr. Page is a native of Cullman and graduated from Cullman High School in 1987. He has an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Wallace State College. He has a Bachelor’s of Science and Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama. He has an Education Specialist’s Degree in Educational Administration from University of Alabama- Birmingham. In 2013, Dr. Page earned his Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Alabama.
Dr. Page was appointed Principal of West Elementary School in February 2013. Prior to West Elementary School, he was an Assistant Principal at Vinemont High School, Cullman High School, and Cullman Middle School. Dr. Page taught AP Government and AP Macroeconomics at Hartselle High School. He has coached football, basketball, track, and cross-country. This is his twenty-sixth year as an educator.
Dr. Page has two daughters, Mary Claire and Anna.

Mrs. Courtney Waters, Assistant Principal
West Elementary is excited to welcome Mrs. Courtney Waters as the new Assistant Principal. Mrs. Waters brings twenty-two years of experience in education, including the past thirteen years as an English Language Arts teacher at Cullman Middle School.
She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in English Language Arts and earned her certification in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama in 2024. In addition, she attained National Board Certification in 2017.
Mrs. Waters and her husband, Ryan, have been married for 23 years, and they have two children. Their daughter, Reese, is currently a sophomore at Mississippi State University, and their son, Whitt, is a sophomore at Cullman High School.
Mrs. Waters is honored to join the West Elementary team and looks forward to partnering with the dedicated faculty, staff, students, and families to make the upcoming school year a positive and successful one.
