See You at The Pole

See You at The Pole will be facilitated by Desperation Church. Students can begin to gather around the 3rd Street flagpole at the football field around 7:20 AM before the start of the school day to pray for their friends, families, teachers, school administration, and their nation.

Chocolate Sale

Chocolate sale forms will be sent home on Monday, September 14th. The funds raised will help our PTA provide additional resources for our school and students throughout the year. Please consider participating!

The sale will take place from September 14th to October 5th. Any student who sells 2 boxes will have the opportunity to participate in a water balloon extravaganza, where they can throw water balloons at Dr. Shannon. Additionally, students who sell 5 or more boxes will receive an extra-level prize.

We will recognize the top-selling boy and girl in each grade with a gift card. There will also be a reward for the top-selling class in each grade with a special treat. Thank you for your support!

Dyslexia Simulation Event

Sunday, September 27th

MythBusters Dyslexia Foundation, is a local nonprofit created and dedicated to increasing dyslexia awareness, education, and access to resources.

We would love to invite your students, families, teachers, and staff to our Walk in My Shoes Dyslexia Expo on Sunday, September 27, from 4:00–6:00 PM at the Omni Plex in Cullman.

This is a FREE, family-friendly, come-and-go event where families can participate in interactive dyslexia simulation activities, meet local dyslexia resources and professionals, and learn more about testing, intervention, and support for students with dyslexia.

Thank you for supporting dyslexia awareness in our community!

AR Reading Incentives

 Important Starting Points:
  •  3rd Grade: Students must reach 10 AR points to receive their first prize.
  •  4th–5th Grade: Students must reach 20 AR points to receive their first prize.
After reaching their first milestone, students can continue working toward the next point levels and earning additional rewards! 
Please encourage your students to keep reading, taking their AR quizzes, and working toward their next milestone. Every point counts, and we want to celebrate their hard work and love of reading! 
A few reminders:
  •  Points must be earned through AR quizzes.
  •  Rewards are based on the point levels shown on the chart.
  •  Students can stop by the library when they reach a new milestone to receive their reward.
  •  Encourage students to keep reading after earning a prize and see how far they can go!

Family & Community | ARI Newsletter for Education

The Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI) is a statewide K-3 initiative committed to supporting the development of high-quality instruction that will prepare all students with the literacy skills needed to meet or exceed grade-level standards. The goal of the ARI is to significantly improve reading instruction and ultimately achieve 100% literacy among public school students. Read more here
 

Travel Planning Guide

Our CCS family travel guide highlights important dismissal and holiday dates for our school. As you plan vacations, appointments, and other events for the upcoming year, please take note of the days when Cullman City Schools will be closed. We encourage families to schedule trips and appointments around these dates whenever possible, as this helps minimize missed instructional time.
